This is the sight that greeted us on our arrival back in town yesterday afternoon: a huge flock of gulls!
It could be the ones that normally hang around the dump outside of town. Perhaps something disturbed them. Or, perhaps they just felt like going for a fly.
At any rate, it was awe-inspiring, in a way. And kinda gross. The few gulls that hang out at our cottage lake are good to have around, as they clean up any dead fish and keep the shores clean; the thought that this many gulls are able to thrive on the garbage lying around our town is not pleasant.
