Hi Deb - I don't know the name of the guy - it was someone from Eganville who installs septic systems. What he told my husband was that there is something in the soap keeps it in liquid state and that it doesn't break down, and will eventually gum up the weeping bed. I'm with you though, as soon as you hear one thing, you hear just the opposite too!!! Right? I'll check with the next septic inspector I meet up with - get a second (maybe third???? haha) opinion....
