This is from my mom-in-law's garden, a columbine which she tells me is called Aquilega. Thought it was lovely and had to snap a pic! Sheila has a way with flowers. I love to sit in her back yard and just enjoy the beauty.
Not a fan, but winter is something one survives (hopefully) so that spring may occur. I miss Stitches, very much. Fortunately, we have Jasp...

Lovely! Beautiful flowers, and a great shot, too.
Aquilegia is the genus all columbines belong to. There are about 70 species in the genus. Heaven knows how many hybrid cultivars. (Aren't I just full of semi-useful bits and bobs of information??)
Yes you are! Including the correct spelling for the plant (thank you - I sort of wondered if it shouldn't have an 'i' near the end). Sheila told me this was a "very old-fashioned" one which she'd loved for years. It only blooms biennially (now I need my spell-checker again).
